Turn in your mini quilt Sept. 21

Saturday is the deadline for turning in mini-quilts to be shown at the Boise Basin Quilt Show.

When: September 21, 10:30a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Where: Cole & Ustick Library, 7557 W Ustick Rd., Boise
What: We’ll hear from our own Amanda Oros of Sweetpea Design Co. with tips on how to prepare a quilt for your longarm quilter. Then we’ll have show and tell, and you’re free to stay and sew or socialize.

The Boise Basin Quilters annual quilt show is Sept. 27-28Are you planning to participate in our BMQ mini-quilt challenge and display at the show? Quilts are due to Pam at the September 21 meeting; after that day no additional submissions will be accepted. If you’re still thinking about it, you still have time to make a mini of just about anything you want! Here are the guidelines:

    • maximum size 20“x 20”
    • use solids or prints, any color combination you like
    • make it round, uneven edges, triangle, or even square (ha)
    • design your own or use a pattern
    • be sure to label your quilt! simply pin or whip stitch a cloth or paper label on the back side of your quilt with your name, phone number, quilt name (optional), and any special instructions (e.g., which side is top); this will help make sure your quilt gets returned to you
  • If you want to make something that can be used again at the Surel’s House event in 2025, make something with reds and whites to fit that exhibit theme. Thank you Pam for leading this effort!
  • And, thank you to our members who signed up to help with the BBQ exhibit. Check your email for the final schedule of who signed up to help be at the booth and talk with folks.
