We’re excited to announce that Laura Hartrich will be our featured speaker for the guild meeting on April 18, 2026. She’ll be presenting “Liner Notes and Labels: Learning to Love Quilt Documentation” via Zoom with us.
Laura is an award-winning quilter based in Oak Park, Illinois, just outside Chicago. Her work explores themes of reflection, memory, time, and acceptance through a deep love of color and texture. A lifelong documenter, she was drawn early to the tradition of labeling quilts and has been a dedicated labeler ever since.
Laura encourages quilters to think about motivation as much as technique, helping them send their quilts out into the world with their stories clearly and meaningfully attached. We look forward to hearing from her and learning more about her quilt labeling techniques!
