July 26 Meeting: Improv, Mini-Sew, BBQ entries

When: Saturday, July 26, 10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. / with option for after-meeting sew time until 4 p.m.
Where: Boise First United Church of Christ, 2201 Woodlawn Ave., Boise
Parking: There’s plenty of parking available in the church parking lot, in a lot across the street, and on-street parking around the church. Please enter using the main entrance; avoid the temptation to make a shortcut through the back door near garbage bins — as that will set off alarms.Summer Improv Challenge

Linda J. will answer your questions about improv sewing and demonstrate making improv triangles. We can’t wait to see what you’ve been working on since last month’s demo of lines & curves. The improv challenge is inspired by Shannon Fraser Designs’ 30 Days of Improv QALs. You can find Shannon’s great tips on everything from fabric selection, to making curveslines and more. Need some inspo? Check out our Pinterest board for improv quilt blocks.

Post-Meeting Mini Sew

Once the meeting adjourns, we’ll take a break and then get to sewing until 4 p.m. You’ll have time to unload your sewing supplies or grab a snack.

    • If you’re staying to sew, plan to be part of the set up and tear down crew. We’ll need your help to move tables and arrange power strips, and then tidy the room when we wrap up at 4 p.m.
    • We’ll set up a couple of ironing stations and provide power strips
    • You bring whatever else you need: cutting supplies, rulers, task light, and all the rest
