Welcome to 2025! It’s BMQG’s 15th Anniversary year and we’re kicking off the year’s celebration with our annual after-holiday sew party!
When: Saturday, Jan. 25, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. (swap happens at 11:30 a.m., followed by potluck lunch, then cake (cake!!) and show & tell)
Where: Red Rock Christian Church, 1124 S Roosevelt St. (corner of Roosevelt & Kootenai), Boise
Parking: Please park in the lot on the north side of the church for easiest access to our space.
It’s a potluck: Bring your favorite food to share for a potluck lunch.
15 and Fabulous Swap: If you want to participate in this swap (purely optional), bring something wrapped, $15 value or less. It could be almost anything — something you made, something you eat, something you read; something from your favorite fabric store or treasures from your stash; or anything else you come up with. Think about giving the kinds of things you’d like to receive, and have fun!
Things to bring: Bring your own sewing machine, necessary tools and projects to work on. Maybe a cushion for increased comfort on a folding chair. We’ll have some extension/power cords, but you may want to bring your own just in case. Bring your reusable water bottle (we’ll have cups and other items available, but this helps cut down on single-use items).
Tools: We could use one more full size ironing board; respond to this email if you can bring yours. If you already signed up to bring irons, ironing boards, cutting mats and design walls, thank you!
Some other things to note:
- A basket will be available if you’d like to throw in a few bucks as a donation to the church (we’re fortunate enough to use the space free of charge) — purely optional and no pressure or obligation.
- Bring your community giving projects (finished or ready for binding) to turn in for delivery. If you need batting, we have a new supply, thanks to Dawn Murphy (thank you Dawn!!!). Contact Millissa Masters directly at 541-325-3611 to get batting for your community giving project. And, if you end up with extra batting, consider bringing it back to a future meeting so we can piece it and use for other quilts.
- A sharing table will be available to bring sewing items that are ready to go to new homes. As in other meetings, it’s a “leave no trace” exchange, so if something you brought is still on the table when you’re ready to leave, it’s your responsibility to take it away.
- Everyone gets two free raffle tickets (prizes not to be missed); find Apryl or Kathy S. to buy more, just $1 each or 6/$5.
Looking forward to seeing you on the 25th!
