BMQG is June 28 (did we mention there’d be cookies?)

Join us for the next monthly meeting featuring Cookies, Conversation and Challenges!
When: June 28, 10:30 p.m. – 1:30 p.m.
Where: Boise First Congregational United Church of Christ, 2201 Woodlawn Ave., Boise

Shout out to Fay and Cathy R. for making sugar cookies to celebrate our 15th year anniversary. And don’t forget to BYO coffee or tea if you enjoy that with a sweet. After a member mixer, we’ll move into our Challenge Double-Header:

  • “What Was I Thinking” Challenge: Bring your completed (or nearly completed) items to show. We can’t wait to see how your ugly ducklings turned into swans. As a reminder, from the fat quarter(s) you took home, make something using a good portion of the fabric on the front (aim for 75% on the front, not hiding it as backing) or in some identifiable way. What the final project becomes is totally up to you! If you want to include your finished piece in a small group challenge display (non-judged) at the September Quilt Show, keep in mind that a finished quilt perimeter should be no larger than 120 inches. Behold the swans!
  • Improv Challenge: Linda J. will show us some examples of improv blocks in finished projects. Then we’ll kick off our next Challenge with Linda demonstrating how to make improv lines & improv curves. At the July meeting, she’ll demonstrate making improv triangles and polygons. Need some inspo? Check out our Pinterest board for improv quilt blocks.
  • Want to have your finished work included in a small group display at the Boise Basin Quilt Show (Sept. 26-27)? Talk with Cheryl at the meeting.
