When: Saturday, October 24, 1 pm – 4 pm
Where: Boise Public Library, 715 S Capitol Blvd, Boise, ID (Marion Bingham Room on 3rd floor)

This month we are excited to have Lisa Flowers Ross speaking to our group about her work. Lisa is a local artist who has an art degree in drawing and a business degree. Her introduction to fabric began when her friend asked her to take a quilt class with her. Later, she realized she could use fabric as a medium for her art and created her first fabric piece in 2001. Since then she has continued working in fabric, has become proficient in free-motion stitching and hand-dyeing her own fabrics.

Lisa’s abstract artworks have been shown regionally and nationally in exhibitions. She is a professional member of the Studio Art Quilt Associates organization, Northwest Designer Craftsmen, Visions Art Museum and Boise Open Studio Collective Organization. Lisa also has worked intermittently as a curatorial assistant at the Boise Art Museum for over 20 years helping with exhibitions. Check out her website to learn more about her work http://lisaflowersross.net.

As always, please bring your completed modern projects and your BOM to share with the group.

Not familiar with how our meetings work? We typically follow this format:

  • Quick announcements
  • Show and share
  • Sewing on individual projects, and of course conversation (or tutorial/presentation if one is scheduled)
