Join us for our monthly Sew Day!

When: Saturday, May 24, 1pm – 4pm
Where: Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft, 1085 N Milwaukee St, Boise ID (upstairs classroom)

For a couple months only, we are experimenting meeting at a different location – Jo-Ann Fabric & Craft on Milwaukee St, in a large room on the 2nd floor.  Just take the elevator that’s located at the back of the store, near the restroom.

This month we have a special treat!  One of our members, Connie Emmen, will lead members who signed up for “Spirals 101”, a class where students will make a basic spiral using RaNae Merrill’s paper-piecing technique with transparent foundation paper (see photo below).  All the blocks made in class will be stitched into a baby quilt that we will donate to a local charity.  Our first charity project – exciting!

Spirals

If you submitted your RSVP and are taking the class, please remember to bring:

  • $10.00
  • sewing machine
  • rotary cutter and mat
  • one fat quarter of a solid fabric in a pink or orange hue (to make the spiral)

Those that didn’t sign up for the class are still welcome to attend Sew Day, just bring your own project to work on.

As always, please bring your completed projects to share with the group! Also, if you have them, it’s always a good idea to bring a power strip and/or small extension cord.

Hope you join us!
