Join us for our monthly Sew Day!

When: Saturday, July 26, 1 pm – 4 pm
Where: Boise Public Library, 715 S Capitol Blvd, Boise, ID (Marion Bingham Room on 3rd floor)

This month we will focus a bit on photography. We all like to take photos of our quilts, whether we are sharing them with friends and family, or posting them online. However, photography is not necessarily something that comes naturally to a lot of us. To help us learn more about the basics, member Vicki Francis will lead a short talk on Photography 101. She will also help us take photos of quilts/quilt tops that members will be entering into the quilt show. Bring your camera! Please note that taking photos of your quilt at the library is completely optional. If you want to take your own photos at home, that is perfectly acceptable.

Everyone is also welcome to bring individual projects to work on, so don’t forget your sewing machine and supplies. As always, please bring your completed projects to share with the group.

A few other items of interest:

  • If you have completed your project for the Michael Miller Fabric Challenge please bring it so we can all see what you made.
  • If you have them, it’s always a good idea to bring a power strip and/or small extension cord as well.
  • If you aren’t familiar with how our meetings work, we typically follow this format:
    • Quick announcements
    • Show and share
    • Sewing on individual projects, and of course conversation (or tutorial, if one is scheduled)

Hope you join us!

  1. At approximately 2:45 I will arrive at the meeting with several boxes of new fabric scraps which you may all take as much of as you like! This batch will have lots of big swatches–12″ x 48″–along with the usual smaller wraps. All fabric purchased in the last couple of years–no duds, I promise. All leftovers from my apron-making biz… .

I may actually need some help unloading and hauling it upstairs (I have a cart) so if someone can volunteer for that chore, I’d be grateful for the help. (Send me your cell phone number and I’ll call you when I am there.)

  2. Looking forward to seeing you Chris! I’ll email you my cell number.
